Quite a few months ago, I met Kerri in an Autism Facebook forum. She’s an electronic artist known as ShadoWing that just released an album Retro Grayed, and a couple of weeks ago, she was in the top 3 of Electronic artists in the Washington State Independent Music Awards.
One day in March, I was driving home from work and the Shuffle gods brought to my ears Prodigy‘s “Invisible Sun”. My mind went crazy! As soon as I got home, I picked up the bass and laid down the groove that became “Fire In The Hole”.
But, as soon as I had all of the instruments down, I couldn’t hear my voice on it. I immediately thought of Kerri. Luckily, she agreed when I asked her if she would like to collaborate on this one. Kerri was quite quick about writing lyrics and laying down the vocals.
Now we’re getting ready to release this beast, and it occurred to me that it’s April, and April is Autism Acceptance Month. So, since we’re both autistic, we decided to donate all proceeds of the sale of “Fire In The Hole” , through Bandcamp, to ASAN (Autism Self Advocacy Network).
